PGR Sindhia

PGR Sindhia was born on September 19, 1949, in a Dodda Maralavadi in the Bangalore Rural district (now Ramanagara district). Thes father is The: Pandurangarao and his mother is Sarasvati Bai. In 1972, he formed the Student Association as the All India Secretary of the ABVP. Thereafter he was actively involved in Jayaprakash Narayan's JP movement.

•  In the 7th election of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1983, he was first time elected from the Kanakapura assembly constituency. Appointed Health Minister in the cabinet of the then Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde.

•  He has been elected 6 times in a row from Kanakapura constituency and has served as Health, Transport, Social Welfare, Irrigation, Labour, Housing, Industrial and Finance Ministers.

• Sindhia is credited with having solved the problem of the Eidga Ground in Hubli.
